Instagram Not Working Today?[Android/iPhone/iPad]

Hello Everyone! Social Media Fellow is back with another blog and today we will discuss some common errors while using Instagram and what to do if Instagram stopped working.

First of all, thank you so much for the previous post and I hope you will continue to share their informational posts in the future.

Let’s come straight to the point, what can you do if Instagram stopped working on your phone or showing some error.

Here are some of the steps to follow to ensure that you will get your answer to your question which is “Instagram not working today?”.

  • Check your internet connection.
  • Clear Cache and Data of the Instagram app.
  • Uninstall the app.
  • Make sure you are not using any VPN.
  • Reboot your phone.
  • Verify if Instagram has proper permissions to use Data

These five ways will possibly fix your Instagram issue. I am going to explain all of them thoroughly with pictures.

Check your internet connection

Checking your internet connection should be your first option if you find that Instagram suddenly stopped working. There are so many people including me who accidentally revoke internet access from Instagram application.

If your internet seems fine, check if you have any DATA SAVING application installed. Sometimes, data savers put a restriction on Instagram to use the Internet data connection to save data.

Also, if you are using mobile internet data, try using Wi-Fi. I don’t know why, but sometimes it works 😄.

Clear Cache and Data of the Instagram App

We can perform this action when we verify that our internet is completely fine and other apps are working without any issues.

Here is the issue that can be with the application itself. Clearing the cache and data of the app can be a possible solution.

If you are using iOS, you cannot perform this action. For Android users, go to Settings > Application > App Manager (This can be different in various phones). After that look for Instagram and hit clear data.

That’s it, open Instagram again and log in to your account again.

Uninstall the application

Uninstalling an app can something be handy if Instagram isn’t working on your iPhone, iPad or whatever device you are using.

For iPhones/iPods/iPads, long press on the Instagram app icon then select “Delete”.

For Android, long-press the app icon and select the uninstall option. For more information, check out this tutorial.

Check if you are using any VPN application

VPN stands for “virtual private network” and can sometimes block the Instagram app to connect with their servers.

Check if you have any application with name VPN at like DoomVPN or NortonVPN. If you get one, uninstall it and try to use the Instagram app again.

Reboot Your Phone

I know, this is not an unknown method. But trust me, I fixed most of the error whether in PC or mobile by rebooting the device.

So it’s worth giving a shot.

Verify if Instagram has proper permissions to use Data

In order to check if Instagram has enough permission to use data on your iOS or iPhone, go to setting and scroll down and click on Instagram and make sure the “Cellular Data” option is ENABLED.
